'93 Prelude Fuel Problem?

Ok.....so this is what happened.

My brother took my car out to go to work. He was on his way back until the car just cut out the fuel. He stated that the power was on and everything, but it just died. There was no jumps or any indication that the car was dying out. It just died. He cranked it and it was turning over, but not starting up. I checked it out for about 4 hours, and I found nothing. I checked::

1. fuel pump
2. fuses
3. dis. cap
4. fuel lines
5. fuel filter

Now, I dont know if this would make it do that, but my idle was jumping around from 1 to about 1.5 after running it awhile. Would that cause my car not to start up and just keep on turning over?? I also saw some posts here about spark plugs....I dont know what to do. Can anyone help me out here? Thanks!!!!!!!!

yes please do this...

to the OP, the story you were giving me happened to me, what it was that the pigtail in the ignition solder points melted off... thus shutting off my car.. if I hold the key to the ON position it stayed on... yea a couple of us 4th genners had that issue over here... we made a mini meet to fix everyone's pigtail harness.. like 4 of us... what a coincidence uh...

How do I do that? The plug wire are long and you wont be able to see the spark. I tried it with a flat head and nothing.

Alrighty. Found the problem. LOSE DISSY PLUG!!!!!!!!!

I had a friend of mine bring over a light gun that flashs to see if your getting fire from the plug wires. Found out that there was none. Traced the the distributor and found that the plug came lose. So....I electric taped it and now there WILL BE NO MORE DYING ON THE STREET!!!! (knocks on wood)

Our cars cant get flooded, thats only for carborated cars, we are fuel injected.
If you start your car and it bogs out and dies, might be one of the problems::

Fuel Pump - jack up your ride and get under the gas tank and listen to the fule pump. You should have another person with you when you do this. Try it several times and if you hear a "electronic" sound EVERY time, your good.

Fuel Filter - If you have never change the fuel filter, it could be clogging up. Best chage that bad boy and it may help your problem.

Fuel injectors - They could be dirty, take them out and clean them with Fuel Injector cleaner. But the chances of that are very slim, best bet...get your gas hella low (like 2-3 bars left) and put in STP Fuel Injector cleaner with 91 octane gas.

Distributor cap - Take the 3 bolts off, DONT TAKE IT COMPLETELY APART!! Jus take off the black cap and look inside. See if theres corrosion or white "powder" and take some 300-400 grit sandpaper and sand the inside prongs.

I think this will help you out....if not....then maybe one of these guys could get it on lock down for ya. But they all the things I listed first. Hope this helps ya!!! GOOD LUCK!!!!
