FUCCING CLUTCH!!!

okay here's the story, I haven't made any progress on my car in the past couple of weeks simply because the thing which allows me to finish everything else, I can't get pass...I lack experience on manual swaps but I've been trying to bleed the damn clutch forever now...how do you guys do it, i've tried like every method in the book. I get pressure somewhat but when i go to repeat the steps i lose pressure?!? i'm like 95% sure there's no leaks. This is the only thing keeping me from completing my swap besides vtec

Re: FUCCING CLUTCH!!!

are you doing it with two people?

one person pumps the pedal w/ their hand about 5-10 times, then holds it to the floor while the 2nd person opens then closes bleed valve. then repeat.

Re: FUCCING CLUTCH!!!

this is a two person job.....have one person in the car pumping the pedal and another loosening and tightening the bleeder screw

1. pump the pedal until firm
2. press the pedal to the floor
3. have your friend loosen the bleeder screw until all fluid stops flowing out...
4. tighten the screw.
5. repeat steps 1-4 while adding fluid ever couple times to make sure your master cylinder is full.

Re: FUCCING CLUTCH!!!

if the fluid comes out wouldn't that mean air bubbles would get into the lines? and does it matter how much you loosen the screw?

Re: FUCCING CLUTCH!!!

Ok, it is a two man job, so get anyone else who knows what loosen and tighten is and they will be able to help.

1. get in your car, have your friend ready at the bleeder valve.
2. pump the clutch a few times, while the valve is closed
3. then tell them to open the bleeder valve, it doesnt take much to open it, maybe 1/2-1 turn from tight if nothing comes out maybe more. AT THE SAME TIME THEY OPEN THE VALVE PUSH THE PEDAL TO THE FLOOR SLOWLY!!!. AS SOON AS THE PEDAL IS MILLIMETERS AWAY OR AT THE FLOOR, SCREAM AT THEM TO SHUT THE VALVE TIGHT. very important, hence the caps hahahaa, this step will pump out air bubbles and fluid and because they shut the valve before you even bring the pedal back up it DOESNOT allow air back in.
4. repeat till the helper sees steady line or stream of fluid coming out (no more air bubbles) and your done

no as long as you reservoir is full. if it empties then you will and the process starts all over...trust me it takes a loooong time to get all the air out.

Re: FUCCING CLUTCH!!!

just bleed it to where it shifts fine... it might be a little soft but you can bleed it again the next day when all the air bubbles accumulate back together again then it should be perfect

Re: FUCCING CLUTCH!!!

You don't bleed the clutch the same way as the brakes. The service manual is pretty clear.
