Well i have a 92 prelude with a h22a swap, and today the check engine light came on and when i drive it and rev it up to 3000 rpm it wont go any higher and it acts like its hitting the rev limitor, i have no idea what this could be, and suggestions?

Re: h22a problems

from what I hear its what luders call "Limp Mode"

Take a look around using the search button. See if those symptoms describe what yours is doing. If it is, follow those directions and threads.

Re: h22a problems

well how bout you get your code checked... that would most likely tell you the problem.... unless you have done that there is no point in asking us what we think.

Re: h22a problems

there's an entire thread called "why VTEC doesn't engage" on Honda-Tech.com but it sounds like it could be your oil pressure switch, because most of the other symptoms would just cause for vtec to NOT engage and wouldn't affect how high you can rev...or it might also be your speed sensor

But yeah, first you got to check that sucker and see what code it's throwing then go from there. Good luck with getting it fixed. :) Let us know what code it is, and we'll be able to help you more.
