Icon9 Iced Out?

winter is approaching and i have no heat...

i checked my broken ass CC and everything works, except my heat. when i slide the thermostat dilio it will only slide to about 2/3 of the way to the cold side and all the way to warm. in seeing this the only thing i can think of is that full blast heat is actually 2/3 warm and the rest (for Elliot, 1/3) cold. only thing is though, is that there is absolutly no heat what so ever. i was told to check the thermostat inside the motor so i bought a new one but they didnt have a gasket in stock. so before i buy the gasket is there any other things that could be wrong with my heating.

love to all, and to all a good night.....

love tedd

Re: Iced Out?

might be a bad heater core or the valve that opens to let the water flow to the heater core.

I'm havin' the same problem dood. It worked perfectly up until about a month ago when it started getting cold out. Lemme know if/how you fix the problem.

Re: Iced Out?

Ive never had the problem on any honda so idk how much help i will really be but.....On a few of the cars i had over the years most of the time it was the heat core valve since u can't move the lever all that way i would start with that.

that was the problem with my old cutlass. one day a few weeks after I bought it, I noticed that the heat stopped (it was almost winter) and I look in the radiator (old coolant doesnt hold heat, and thats what heats up the heater core to heat you) only to find brown gunk. My radiator starts leaking a few weeks later, and then the brown gunk clogged my heater core. So, a new radiator, thermostat, and heater core later, I had heat again.

Just a little heads up. Do coolant flushes. You'll be happy you did.
