Re: h23a1 rebuid

WOW that is high! lol

its high, between 1.00 and 1.50 more then some of HONDA's highest compression engines!

here is a list of compression ratios for SOME of Honda's bad boy motors with high compressions.

K Series:
K20A 07 Civic Type-R: Compression: 11.7:1
k20A 01-06 Type-R: Compression: 11.5:1
K24Z3 2009 TSX: Compression: 11.0:1
K20Z3 & Z4 06-08 civic SI *z4 = EDM type-r: Compression: 11.0:1
K20Z1 & A2 05-06 RSX-S & 02-04 RSX-S: Compression: 11.0:1

F Series
F20B Compression ratio: 11.0:1
F20B2 97-01 SiR and SiR-T:Compression: 11.0:1

B Series
B16B 97-00 Civic Type-R: Compression: 10.8:1
B18B4 96-00 Ballade 180i: Compression 11.1:1
B18C5 & C6 97-01 Integra Type R Compression B18C5 Compression: 10.6:1
B20B Compression ratio: 11.0:1

D series
D17A7 2001-2005 Honda Civic GX: Compression : 12.5:1....it is a CNG vehicle

================================================== ==============================================

Almost all those cars are made to be daily drivers. 12.5 is pretty high, if you want to keep it a daily I would say bring it down a bit, maybe try to keep it from 11.5:1 - 12.0:1, but if its gona be a racer then hell go for it!

my .02

Re: h23a1 rebuid

I'd agree with 408 to an extent. 12.5 is pretty high, but I don't think it's unreasonable to be a DD.

Personally I would do more like 12.0:1 like he said, but it's your decision

Re: h23a1 rebuid

12.5 is decently high. I wouldnt do 12.5 on a DD, but its not unreasonable. I would keep that high of a compression for a track only car.

you should do 9.0 and boost it
