Icon6 Best ground clearance?

So, by mass opinion, what is the best distance in ground clearance for my 92 lude? I think it's too low right now... NOT how I roll.

Re: Best ground clearance?

listen if your area is all flat..no bumps..or little bumps here and there, and you don't climb up driveways...your area is perfect for a lowered stance. if you just want that look of lowered but not actually be lowered...sell your springs, find a nice set of 18's..and have a 1.5 drop around there...something mild, you'll defintely be happy.

Re: Best ground clearance?

We can't give a "best" clearance distance because "best" is a word that is totally dependant on the one giving their point of view. If you're happy with your height, keep it. If you're not, do something about it.

alot of people will tell you lower the better, ala our drunk Italian moderator Him and I go back and forth if a car should be lowered or raised..."Lei inganna!"

Nevertheless, I was once slammed and i hated driving all funny, bouncing all over the place, scraping here and there...i raised my car last year and i love it! im currently lowered 1.3 inches. More like 1.5 now that it has settled.

Depending on your habitat, area you live, if your streets and roads are bad, i highly suggest you raise your car. You can opt for adjustable coilovers, so you can raise or lower your car whenever you please.

Fyck the Honda-tech slam!!

Re: Best ground clearance?

I live in the middle of NC, so it's pretty flat, for the most part. And when I bought the car, it had adjustable coilovers already installed.

I just don't know what my ratio from front to back should be. I mean, if I'm going to scrub every speed bump, then I'm definitely gonna raise it. Or if I'm scraping my headers.

But how do you measure? From ground to side skirts, or is there a different way to measure?

I personally wouldn't go that low... since i do a lot of canyon running... but you do lose your handling capabilities if you too low...

But my girl isn't fat, so I guess I don't have to go too high after all! lol.

1.5 is a pretty good even medium i would have to say. i sometimes barely scrape my exhaust on speed bumps if they are ridiculously big

Re: Best ground clearance?

Default setting on the Tein basic dampers is about as low I want to go. Even at this setting which is a conservatiive drop I still scrape over certain speed bumps, driveways etc...I just can't see going any lower and being practical.
