Those darned lugnuts...

So a few weeks ago when I put in my new wheel sensor, I was putting my wheel back on and one of the lugnuts wouldn't go back on because it and/or the stud where stripped or crossthreaded all to hell. The lugnuts were the ones that were on the car when I bought, nothing special, and the studs are the ones that Sears put in when they put my new tires on (don't ask why they had to put new studs in). It's a well known fact that you get what you pay for, but is this as true for lugs/studs as it is for everything else? They all seem to be made the same way, but if spending $200 on lugs/studs is what it takes to keep this **** from happening, I'll do it. Or is it just the fact that Sears is ****ing retarded and the people that work there can't put wheels on? I would like your opinions haha. Thanks.

Re: Those darned lugnuts...

Bump... And I just bought these so I wanted to know if anyone else had them and what they thought of them. Since I seem to have such horrible luck with lugs/studs...lol

take it back to them and tell them to fix the stud they just replaced because the technician crossthreaded the new lug nut and stud reinstalling the wheel.

Re: Those darned lugnuts...

I would do that, but I do not want those incompetent mother ****ers touching my car EVER again. As if them ****ing my brand new lugs/studs up wasn't bad enough, last time they mounted tires for me, I watched them pull it out of the garage, and as they did, a lugnut flew off the driver's side rear wheel. I was like "Really....did that just happen?" They bent/stripped/crossthreaded/snapped THIRTEEN out of sixteen studs on my car that time, then said they needed to be replaced anyway and charged me for it. ****ty ass, short ****in' studs that are ****ing worthless. According to them, the studs I had in were "Shot to ****," even though I removed the wheels at least 10 times prior to this incident, with NO problems whatsoever. They need to put down the ****ing impact gun and take their time and not **** up my **** any more. I don't really need to worry about it though, since they will never be touching my car again. I'm really not looking forward to putting new studs in AGAIN. FUUUUUCK.

Nope Sears is just fvcking retarted. They stripped a lug on my jeep and they couldnt even put a new one on for me..the stud wasnt even stripped just the lug. They have good warranties other than that though.

Next time I wont pay them(any shop) until they fix their problem. You should do the same.

Re: Those darned lugnuts...

ok... call them up and tell them that you want a competent mechanic/ technician at a shop or YOUR choice to fix but they need to cover the bill. otherwise you have to eat the cost.

ya they definately can't put wheels on! i'd go in and kick their ass!

it's like my local tyre place, first time i got my tyres changed they put the tyres on the wrong sides of the car (left on right nd right on left) and robbed my dust caps! second time they crossthreaded a nut, didn't balance the wheels properly and robbed my dust caps again!
i can't stand tyre places like that, they seem to hire the biggest idiots! now i go to a guy more then half an hour away because he's the only one who seems to know what he's doing!
