How hard is it to swap an F20C engine into a forth gen. prelude?

Re: F20C

Depends on what ya mean buy best. Do u mean the one that will give you the most hp stock, ez to drop in and hook up, u want to boost. It really depends on what the end golal u want is.

Re: F20C

well then a h22 will give ya more HP and vtec too not to hard to drop in. U can get a h22 head and ecu and it be about the same not 100% but someone will chime in with more up on that i think it would be about the same price wize tho to just get the h22 b/c u can get them cheap.

Re: F20C

would it be cheaper to jusr rebuild the h23 and do smaller things like a header and intake other then buying and installing a new engine?

Re: F20C

it depends how much you can do yourself. if you just buy parts and do EVERYTHING yourself then most likely. but if you cant rebuild the engine then the swap is cheaper

f22 is best for boost, go with a boosted f22, they make good numbers, if you want to be different

Oh yeah and they are a dime a dozen

Re: F20C

no not as fast. they have longer gearing.

you can get an h22 for less than a grand. they are not more than 800 and you might be able use the h23 ecu (not sure tho)

Isnt nick running a f22 that he got mad cheap? If you have a h23 right now i dont even think you need to swap electrical, just ecu maybe.

f22- 135 hp, h23- 160, h22- 190. so its the least powerful bone stock

Re: F20C

I think you need to work out what you want to do, and how much you want to spend.

To be fast, cost effectivly the best way to go would be to boost the H23. Or buy a second one, build that one then swap it in when it's finished.

Or you could swap in a H22, and boost that one later. With the amount of work that goes into a H22 swap it's not a good idea to swap back to H23 later on.

Or if you have really deep pockets you could bolt in a K20/24. You can buy a bolt in engine mount kit, and the K has far more aftermarket support than either H ever will.

But we can't really help point you in the right direction if we don't know what direction you want to go in.

really i am fairly broke right about now and i am looking for something cheap and fast so idk what all i could do to the h23 to make it faster so i was lookin at swapping a new engine in but i mean if you could name some things besides boost that will gain me more speed/hp on my h23 tht works too. i just i want at lease 210-220 hp

Re: F20C

you will need complete head work stage 2 or 3 cams with new valve train and an amazing header(expensive) to go with a trait through exhaust and maybe you will be close to 200
