Save yourself some time and money and just get the h22 now. If that is indeed what you intend to do later on.

Re: I NEEEED A FREAKING ENGINE!!!!

Honestly - If your planning on going the H22 route later - just do it now. If you think about it - if you put another H23 in, you will be spending money to keep that running and keeping the car running. You will spend more then you want to in an engine you don't want to have in the car.

Get the H22 now - if you have to take out a loan or something to do it it would still be worth it because then you have the engine you WANT to have in the car anyways and any work done to it will be permanent

looks like he might not want the h22.. I love mine...

I traded my h23a1 (227K!) for my new kyb agxes... I bet the guy would let it go for less than 300 (he has since purhased another h22... he had a blown one). Where you located? Shipping would be a bitch... engine still ran strong, but used a quart of oil in 1000 miles... guess that makes it a good candidate for a rebuilt.

My thoughts ...

Not saying that it isn't possible for you to do it, because well ... who am I?? But I would recommend that you allow a shop to do it. If your not sure on what parts to buy, then I'm pretty sure your not ready for the install.

Indeed his 2 cents are worth a lot. It is pretty much a constant that people who have upgraded from the H23 to the 22 have enjoyed it much more....even if it is only for a daily driver. I would recommend getting an H22 with less mileage though. I am sure most of the sites ( i'll have to find the link) listed guarantee their motors will have less than around 30k and go for around $2k or less. someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Re: I NEEEED A FREAKING ENGINE!!!!

yikes, time to swap asap.

someone give the airplane mechanic the info he needs! I'm inept... I have a friend whose dad is a plane mechanic and they rebuild the engine in his nissan.

good luck... 500 bucks for an engine and tranny doesn't sound like a bad gamble if you can do the work.

the h22 is a great engine... no offense to my old h23, but I do enjoy the car more now.
