My baby got smashed...

So I was in an accident a few days ago... wasn't my fault but the passenger side front corner of my car got all kinds of f'd up. The headlight is smashed to bits, the hood is bent upwards, the fender literally tore and buckled, and my bumper is bent a little. She's still drivable and seems to be still fairly well aligned, but she definitely took it pretty hard to the front.

Here's my main question: If the insurance company decides that my car is totaled, what happens to all the aftermarket parts on my car? Do I get a chance to remove them? Would they add them to my settlement? Or do they just disappear with no payment in return?

Also, I have heard of people buying their car back after it's totaled. Do you guys know how this works? My car is still drivable, and it has an H22 and tranny that I'm sure would fetch good prices... along with the aftermarket suspension stuff and my exhaust.

If it's not stock u get to keep it from what i been told. I would buy it back from them if it is and they wont can make as butt load of the left overs.

Re: My baby got smashed...

Well if you dont have gieco and have all of the part accounted for you wont get dick for them. When you buy your car back from them you wont get as much money, take my friend that wrecked his WS6 TA and they gave him 18 grand for it. Well he bought it back so he got to keep the car and only 15 grand of the cash. (im sure with the age of the car you'll only be hit with maybe a 500$ fee to keep it)

So buy it back and part the b!tch out you'll make way more money.

When i totaled my 98 integra it was only going to cost $600 to buy it back. Coulda rebuild the thing, but i put her to rest and got my lude. Buyback cost is related to how much they give u from the collision coverage.
