some help needed

ive got a 92 lude, base model with the f22a1. what are my options as far as swaps goes? is it just limited to the F and H series? or could i swap with something else? and as for the f22, it has a rod knocking. where should i get my internals from to replace the ones in it now?

Re: some help needed

if you can afford some downtime of your car, build whatever you want. ie, N/A H22, boosted H23, etc etc.
but if you need it on the road ASAP, just get a stock F22/H23/H22 and drop'er in.

and don't search for preludes on CL. just search for the engines. if you live anywhere near a populated place, there should be dozens of engines.

Re: some help needed

Sell a fridge and 2 queen beds? I'm guessing you either have alot of random stuff in your house, or you work at some sort of appliance/furniture store...lol

Yah, I'd go with a new engine. It'd probably be cheaper than trying to get new internals, unless you do all the work yourself and can afford the downtime.

Post it up in the Want to Buy section and see if someone can help you out, try to find someone close by to your location. You can probably check other sites too. You might have luck on cb7tuner.com, it's a forum dedicated to the cb7 accord, which base ran with a F22A engine as well. And those f*ckers are swapping sh*t all the time. I wish you the best of luck! Where are you located? I'll keep an eye out.

O-f*cking-hio...been there, got ridiculously wasted there, lost my favorite snowboarding beanie there. I got a buddy from Wauseon.

So you're good on downtime and replacing internals. So, stock or aftermarket internals, and what all is f*ckered up?

edit: knocking rod, got that. Just wondering about anything else.

Re: some help needed

No accords or preludes with F22's? Any accords or preludes with H23's? I think the rods might be the same, I'll check my Chilton's when I get off work here in like an hour.

Otherwise --> OEM Honda Parts It'll cost you around $120 shipped for 1 rod it looks like. It's just 1 rod knocking, not like 2 or all 4, right? lol

Re: some help needed

*shrug* I'm not 100% sure on that, that is currently past my expertiese level. lol I'll know in like 7 months, if you want to wait. Did it f*ck up the crankshaft or the piston? Wait til like 10 tonight when all the knowledgable night owls come online and see what they say. If you have to replace everything, you might as well just get a whole engine cause you'll be spending a good deal on replacing all that sh*t anyways...good luck!

Re: some help needed

If you're gonna go the ebay route, make sure it's trustworthy. I've never bought something that big and important off ebay, don't know how much I'd trust it. But hey! I still say if you can find one on here, cb7tuner, preludepower, hondahookup, hondaswap, etc it might be a better deal and a more trustworthy source. I assume you haven't taken apart the engine to see if just the rod is bent, or why it's knocking or anything, eh?

Re: some help needed

Connecting Rods from the H23 and F22 can not be interchanged, the journal diameter and side clearances are the same, but the oil clearence is different. So you'd definantly need a rod from another F series.
