i dont think it would be ball joint...unless the boot ripped completely off and its reallllllly dry. id say your spring broke at the top or bottom, check it

Re: Right Front Of Prelude making Noise

i dont think its a BJ either, cuz you'd have some other symptoms, like getting squirrly when hitting a bump at highway speeds.
just to make sure its not the BJ, jack the car up so the wheel is off the ground, grab it top and bottom, and left and right, and shake it back and forth. there should be minimal, if any play, and def no clunks or odd noises.

Re: Right Front Of Prelude making Noise

I have the same issue - mine isnt a sueak tho, its a knock like something is hitting, and I'm about 80% sure its my CV axle. When I get time to fully diagnose it I will let you know what my problem is and you can try it too.

moral of story = CV axle

Re: Right Front Of Prelude making Noise

look at your spring also take a look at the condition of your strut mounts and struts best bet change the front suspension then later on do the rears. How many miles does it have?

I would think you have a different issue if you have a clunk and he has a squeak

Re: Right Front Of Prelude making Noise

Well. I'm not good enough to diagnose said problem. But watch out for a clicking like noise. I developed one awhile back on the right side of my car, it would make rapid clicks, making a creaking type noise, during acceleration and turning. I later found out that my axle was almost worn down so bad it was almost in half. Which rather pissed me off cause I had just had a mechanic do over 2K worth of preventitive and resorative work on the car just over 3 mo's before this problem. You think he would've seen something, d-bag mechanics. Hope you figure it out!

Re: Right Front Of Prelude making Noise

My Lude made a squeaking noise over the winter, turned out that the ball joints were dry and needed some more grease, so I shot some grease in them and it is fine now. Try shooting some grease in the ball joint boot.
