What to do next? (mod)

Need help finding out what to do next to my girl.
I've got headers, CAI, exhaust and a couple minors...
What should I do next for HP gain?
Figuring that out while perfecting the visual look...lights anyways

Re: What to do next? (mod)

high-flow cat/test pipe. Adjustable fuel pressure regulator w/gauge. Bigger throttle body with a port-matche intake manifold. Lightweight flywheel and a decent clutch.
There's plenty of options.

If you've got a cai and header, a tune would be a good next thing to get done. Also, adjustable cam gears and cams would be a great thing. More than that and you need to start spending big $$

just to add what you guys have already suggested. on top of cam, you would wanna upgrade retainers and springs. if you get the fuel pressure regulator i suggest a larger fuel rail as well (AEM for both).

have you done a full tune-up yet. people tend to forget how much better their cars run after one. get some NGK iridium plugs and NGK wires FTW

Iridium plugs are pointless imho and a waste of money.
G or V Powered NGK plugs are just fine and alot cheaper.

Re: What to do next? (mod)

I guess it really comes down is how much are you willing to pay to make your car faster.
If you got the big bucks, then I suggest a turbo with a fully built bottom-end or if your motor is healthy condition then maybe you can run a set-up pushing no more than 5-6 psi.(with a good tune of course)

Or If your in a bit of a budget then can give a shot of NawZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

Re: What to do next? (mod)

Personally.
I would work on suspension upgrades. A killer spring/strut combo, stiff motor mounts, and a good set of tires.
All the things that will help get the power to the ground.

If you are all about motor work, then I would recommend a Tune.

Re: What to do next? (mod)

Ah, good to see ya posting again Blaze.

You really just need to sit down and write down everything you want to do with the car, right down to air fresheners and things that NEED to be done. Then prioritize what needs to be done first and go from there. There's lots of people here who can help you make a list and group it if you need it.
on't blinding spend money on random parts hoping for horsepower, cause you'll spend WAY more that way than researching and doing it right the first time. Good luck.

Actualy IT magazine (import tuner) did an independent test on spark plugs to see if they make any hp, and they got an increase with the iridium. Exactly how much? I don't remember, but it was an increase non the less

Re: What to do next? (mod)

Lighter flywheels help the engine to rev up quicker, but also they drop revs quicker. I've driven some cars with really light flywheels where if you're going hard and just step off the gas the sudden drop in revs/momentum just about throws you through the windsheild. They're a personal opinion, some say they're hard to drive with, others love them.

Well I'm still debating whether to do a full tune up now or later, cuz the sparks and plugs are still good as far as i know, but of course it wouldn't hurt to do it anyway.

you would get turbo cams and probably a stage 2 clutch. If you are planning to make great hp(400+) then go stage 3 clutch. Save up for all the tuning you are gonna do also.

250?

more like 500+.

the sole purpose of running a larger rail is only for people who have huge injectors and big power which will starve of fuel with the stock rail volume.

determine the volume of the stock rail, then determine the amount of fuel being sprayed per cycle at X duty cycle times 4 and you will be able to determine whether or not the stock rail is sufficient.

Uhh... VAFC? For an H23...lol Its an H23. So no VAFC. I might change my mind about the turbo.... Sorry. What is a N/A build? Is that when a car is "all motor"? I think I'm going to look more into the advantages and disadvantages of turbo vs N/A vs super chargers

Edit: I forgot you had an h23, but anyway if you want to go all motor, just swap an h22a

Re: What to do next? (mod)

Thanks for the link. I'll stick with my H23 for now although the other day i saw a JDM H22 for around 800... but oh well. So I'm still debating on the supercharger and turbocharger...I've heard both ways about em, like super being better for preludes especially the H23, but turbos being better for the H23 due to the slight lower compression than in the H22...anybody here ever have personal experience with both? (meaning you once had a super/turbocharger then swapped it out for the opposite) I know its highly unlikely seeing as once you go with one you dont turn around, cost being the main reason.
