The Slow Project

Hey, brand new to this forum. This is my large work list which will cover the next 3 yrs or, hopefully, less and take 9K+ as it is so far. Feel free to offer any and all opinions. Yes I am putting a new F22A in it, no I do not want to swap to an H22A. Everyone always says, "I would just swap". If you really want to reiderate all the times other persons have posted that to me, I guess go ahead. Just know it won't change my mind. There is a question at the end too, fuel injector question.

Phase 1
Honda F22Ax engine
New spark plugs, wires, gaskets, seals, belts, etc
Bisimoto heat shielding intake gasket

Phase 2
Honda non-vtec cam core from Bisimoto
Bisimoto non-vtec level camshaft regrind
Bisimoto cam gear
Tune #1

Phase 3
Koyo Performance radiator

Phase 4
Action clutch, single diaphragm, unsprung
Bisimoto 11.5lb aluminum flywheel
Neuspeed short shift adapter

Phase 5
OMNI-power 70mm throttle body w/TPS
AEM high volume fuel rail
AEM adjustable fuel pressure regulator
Unorthadox Racing Ultra SS underdrive pulley set
?VENOM 550cc fuel injectors?
Tune #2

Phase 6
Dent removal
Respray OEM blue
Speedy Wheels 17" Lite-7's w/Nexen N3000 tires
Tanabe Super Medalion Hyper Spec catback exhaust

Phase 7
Bisimoto rough bore and sleeve
Bisimoto 86mm, 10.5:1 shelf pistons
Tune #3

Phase 8
Bisimoto CNC + Portflow standard headwork
Bisimoto V2, stainless steel, ceramic coated header
Tune #4

That's it. Any and all comments welcome and appreciated. Now for the question, as indicated by the "?" in the list, does anyone know anything about VENOM injectors? What kind of injectors is everyone running? I'm looking at the 450cc-550cc range, peak and hold injectors, that's all I would need. So what does everybody think?

Thanks! Well I know it will take me to a consistently empty wallet, but hopefully I'll end up with a badass 4th Gen! I have plans for after I'm done with this project too, 3 years in the future.

i haven't personally had any experience with venom injectors, but i'm assuming its the same venom that makes the nitrous systems (?) so i can't imagine them being a real cheap quality injector.
but why 550's?? thats a giant injector for a non-boosted car. 450's are good for between 280-320hp and are what most people use as the first injectors when turbo'ing their honda.

I'm glad we'll get along! Yes, it is the same Venom that makes the Venom nitrious kits, fuel rails, cam gears, etc. They're a sub division of Python Fuel Systems or some crap like that. Python is for OEM apps as far as I can see, Venom is there aftermarket branch. According to Venom's website, there >500cc injectors are saturated and there <500cc injectors are peak and hold. Peak and hold is what I already have as 4th Gens came stock with 240cc peak and hold injectors. I'm still looking for injectors overall. Someone else suggested RC injectors but all the peak and holds from them start at 550cc as well. What kind are you running? Hell, what kind is anyone running? lol

i've never really looked into injectors for N/A app's, but i can't imagine anyone running any bigger than 350'ish

Re: The Slow Project

This looks like a great project, I went with the h22a, but not to be trendy. I love these unique builds... I kinda agree about the huge injectors.

Re: The Slow Project

Yah, I agree about the injectors too lol. I don't know many people who do the N/A build either, so it's a little tricky. A 350cc injector is good to appx 272hp, assuming a normal air/fuel ratio and normal fuel density. Now I just need to find smaller, 350ish peak and hold injectors. Is DSM exclusivly for boost? I'll look into them. Thanks for all the comments guys!

Schweet! Thanks bro. I couldn't even find those on RC's website. All they had that low were saturated. I've already been told that RC's are pretty badass, pretty good name in injectors and all right? Thanks again for that link!

I may decide to do some fairly mild things like that on the h22a one day, I doubt I will ever boost it.

edit: not peak and hold

My friends at blueridge sell them too and I can guarantee that their reputation is golden...
Blueridge Motorsports: Injectors... about $90 each it was only $76.55 there when added to the cart.($306.20 for 4)
My Friends Shop... They are excellent
if you are only up in DC you should ride down and get tuned on their dyno by Joseph Davis sometime after you get all the parts in...

All the injectors on that site were saturated, not peak and hold. Thanks for the info on a dyno spot. I don't know of any reputable tuner's around here. I'm sure there are but I haven't looked yet. However it would be an almost 7 hour drive down to the shop in NC, of course with a little speed it would go faster, but with the constant road construction it would probably even out. Thanks for the info on the spot though.

Umm...I'm not sure what clicking you're talking about. I have an F22A1 right now, and I don't have any clicking...if I replaced the engine, why would I have clicking?

Lets see...I like being different. I like N/A better than turbo. And slow?!? Bisi of Bisimoto Engineering has an '88 CRX with an F22A running 9.81 @ 139mph and an '06 Insight with an F22A running 9.42 @ 146mph, both complete N/A builds. Pretty sure that ain't f*cking slow dude. Of course mine won't be a full race, it's still going to be my DD. But it ain't going to be slow. Thanks for your concern though!

Sorry, I didn't look at all of them, just assumed they would have some... they may be able to get them if you call. Otherwise I bet that other site is fine; I've never had a problem ordering online.

Bump for pics, finally. My baby is in bad condition, and by bad I mean horrible saddening condition, I'm not gonna lie.
Pic 1: Basic shot of the car, back driver side.
Pic 2: The best looking side of my baby, the back. lol Yes, it was an S with the spoiler, I don't know how/why.
Pic 3: Rear passenger, look at the muffler, you'll see more later.
Pic 4: Driver side shot. The drop evened the car out front and rear nicely.
Pic 5: Front passenger shot. Obviously.

Re: The Slow Project

Pic 16: Or door speaker covers.
Pic 17: Or a muffler. Damn that's nasty. It gives it an interresting sound though, thank God WI doesn't have inspections. lol Those shocks look nice though.
Pic 18: Clutch pedal has no grip left. I have to keep an extra left shoe in my car so that, when it rains, I can change shoes in my car so my foot doesn't slip off the clutch pedal.
Pic 19: Passenger light f*cked up.
Pic 20: Driver side light f*cked up.

Re: The Slow Project

Pic 21: Random paint swirl on the hood. Pretty sure it wasn't there when I bought the car, don't know how/when it showed up.
Pic 22: My ghetto stereo system. Story, bought the car with only the driver side speaker half working with a crackle. Replaced the 2 front ones, was easy cause of no covers. Got these 2 pre-boxed 8's from my buddy who took them out of a truck he junked. Jury rigged them into my stereo instead of replacing the back deck speakers. lol
Pic 23: Decently clean interior, painted the Honda logo in my steering wheel and my tree on the shift nob. Got those beads for flashing my titties at some chick over spring break in florida this past year. And yes, I am a guy.
Pic 24: The reason I took no engine shots. 279181 miles on the original engine, what would you expect to see under the hood?
Pic 25: Saturday morning plans.

That's it. Now you can all make fun of/feel sorry for me. lol

Re: The Slow Project

lol - dude, you know you can post them as images and not as thumbnails right?

The car is in rough shape, but it's a Prelude and it's Love, so it looks like you have one great project ahead of you!

Re: The Slow Project

I couldn't remember how if it wasn't already on the web, and it would have made a giant post that would take forever to load. Alcohol related stupidity. lol

Re: The Slow Project

Bump for update. Project scrapped. lol

Contacted Bisimoto about everything I wanted to do. Was contacted about everything I could do with it still being street legal, which I want. Found out it was less then desirable. Scrapped the project.

I have purchased a new car, which I will be posting a thread about eventually. The 'lude is still my baby and I have new plans for it. Will compile a list similar to OP to bring this to life.

Sorry for the uneventfullness.

Sig

Re: The Slow Project

hahah that sucks...I had that same idea in mind a few months ago but came out with the same conclusion...so I'll just go back to the basic H22a idea and keep it in the back yard and build it slowly until my F22a dies on me..which I don't think it will for a long time...:/
