Replacing Valve Stems/Tune Up ?s-- PHOTOS!

My 'Lude's sitting in the Garage for now...

My Engine Bay with no Head...

Took a lot of work, but in the end - we got the head out and away from the intake manifold... Had to rest with a Bud.

My head and Valves/Valve Springs/Seals

Bottom of head/Valves

Plan on cleaning all of this before Rebuilding...

Intake Ports on Head

Exhaust Ports on Head

Top/middle of Intake Manifold

Top Ports on Intake Manifold

Intake Manifold without that Middle/Top part up there.

Bottom Ports on Intake Manifold

Back of her

-----QUESTIONS-----
Can ANYONE tell me where to find a VALVE SPRING COMPRESSOR so that I can finally get my valves changed out and drive my 'Lude again??

HELP!

Tried this one... But the damned thing is too cheap and doesn't quite fit.

ThAnks!

advanced auto parts/autozone loans them out. i'm pretty sure you need the one thats like a pry bar and bolts onto the head, then you pull it down and it compresses the springs.

I was just at Advanced the other day and didn't even think to ask if they rented them out... there's one not even a mile down the road from me.

Yeah, I bent my valves a while back in February(ish).

bent valves are fun lol. make sure you take the head to a machine shop to make sure it is not warped.

Re: Replacing Valve Stems/Tune Up ?s-- PHOTOS!

We're pretty much done with it... we got it all put back together, with the exception of the timing belt cover.

Now that it's all done, I can't even see if it'll start because my damned battery is dead. Gotta wait until tomorrow to test it/charge it.

Exciting, here are some pics...

The Valve seals were a bitch to get out...

We had to completely destroy the old seals to get them out, this is a comparison of old/new seals...

Tried to Jump it... but we couldn't get enough juice flowin'.

I can finally shut the hood...

Re: Replacing Valve Stems/Tune Up ?s-- PHOTOS!

a knocking sound is not bent valves. this is either spun bearing or something piston related. bents valves sound like a pressure cooker when the engine is running. the ticking sound is just from the rocker arms tapping on the top of the valve. a simpe valve adjustment solves that alot of times. but that is just the nature of our engines
