noob ? how to do my timeing

ok guys as soome of you might know i had issue with my motor well its all done know but when puting it back toghter we went to do the timeing and i know you use the flywhell to set the pistons at tdc useing the line marks and the flywhell but i got the car with a after market flywhell and it doesnt have the marks and i dont know what brand it is can someone tell me how to do my timeing this is the only thing holding me back from haveing the car up and runing thank you
p.s its a 92 si with a h23

Umm what fly wheel did you buy man? You can set you motor to tdc with the crank pully

the oem underddrive pulley will have marks. it may only be a small dot probably covered in dirt but it is there. you can also check the camshaft pulleys but those are supposed to only verify their own sync, and then to the crank.

basically, even if the cams show tdc is good, the crank could still be off a bit if the belt is not on correctly. the fw shouldnt have any marks at all.

well i have afthermarket pully but i will go check later on today

if neither have marks youre still not completely screwed... stick a long straw down the sparkplug hole on cyl number 1 and turn the crank until that straw is at its highest point out.. when it starts to go back down youre ATDC and you need to turn it back... when its at its highest point your at TDC and then you just need to set the cams to TDC#1

ya i checked no marks i had heard about this so i will be doing this tomarrow so i will let you all know how it goes thank you for all your help

the woodruff key should also be the TDC mark on the crank pully. im pretty sure
