Re: remove door panel?

since it's in the 4th gen section i think that's what he has should just be a few screws and then just pops off.

Re: remove door panel?

It is a 6 1/2" speaker but usually the aftermarket speaker magnets are to big for the casing. just cut the casing out a bit and you'll be alright.

Re: remove door panel?

I had to cut a sliver of the outside edge off to fit my Alpine Type-R 6.5" speakers into there. It took a little bit of finagaling and alot of swearing, but we managed to get them in there. It would have been easier for us if we would have immediately just cut a small part off, but decided to see if it would work without the extra cutting....

it didn't...lol

good luck!

Re: remove door panel?

why are you not cutting a baffle to mount to the door that pulls the largest part of the speaker out about an inch to an inch and a half??? The 4th gen (Mines a 92 Si) has MORE than enough room from the door too the actual door panel... shoot.. it is so roomy you can do a 6", and I bet with a lil craftiness you could go up to 7 or 8"...

Personally, I plan on using ALL of that wasted space and going with a three way front end-- 1" silks in the upper panel, then the bottom map pocket area will be fiberglassed and get a 5.25 and a 6 or 7" mid.
