auto - manual swap

within the last week i have purchased a bb4, its the base model and its automatic, i plan on doing an h22 swap and convert it to manual, any seasoned proffesionals have an oppinion or a list or something so i can get an idea of how much its going to cost, and you dont need to tell me its alot of work, i know what im getting into i just wanted an opinion from someone im not buying the **** from, thanks.

Re: auto - manual swap

Some times it's cheaper to get a new car with the manual. My buddy did a auto-manny swap on his firebird and about a month afterwords his 3rd gear burned out. Just be careful when doing it otherwise it can cause you a lot of problems in the end.

Re: auto - manual swap

I'm actually swapping my H23 engine and automatic tranny out now and putting in an H22 type s with a manual LSD tranny...i just got the engine out and i'm ready to start swapping parts and adding all the clutch related parts to the tranny and the car. Since the car came in a manual version when it was made everything for the most part bolts right on up and has existing holes, the only thing i would worry about is the wiring. I got all the manual swap parts, an ECU, and axles all for around 300 so it's worth it. Look out for my thread and it'll have my progress, but in the meantime and until i'm done here's a link that i'm using for reference...
