f***0my engine???!!!

Ok so I was drivin home thru a rain storm and I turned onto a street that had some rivers runnin down the side. I tried to drive down the middle lane when I looked downn and realized the car turned off and I tried to start it and it wouldn't even cranked... Pulled the oil cap and its all milky on top... What do u think? Fixable or garbage?

Re: f***0my engine???!!!

dry her out man and keep your fingers crossed.
keep in mind your pcv intake is right on your c.a.i. if a little bit of water even just an excess of moisture gets in under the valve cover it can do that to oil.
now from what you said about whats on the dipstick and the engine not wanting to crank tho.....

if it wont crank tomorow when its dry get a wrench on the crank and see if it wil even rotate \...then youl know for shure.

Re: f***0my engine???!!!

Hydro-locked, do you you have a CAI? You better hope something is wrong with your starter cause thats easier to fix than an hydro-locked engine...

Re: f***0my engine???!!!

pk...so its not hydrolocked... but... the #4 rod snapped but it snapped in such a way that it wedged against the block and caused the engine not to crank so I dont think there was any damage done to the cylinder...

Re: f***0my engine???!!!

I think cuz it sheered off really short so it is like on the bottom of the block where it meets the oil pans is where it gets wedged not on the cylinder... Either way I am pullin all the pistons and replacing the rings and main bearings along with the head gasket and valve cover gasket. And will hone the cylinders

Re: f***0my engine???!!!

nice pick now work your way up to breaking cranks lol sry nick... but be careful when honing those cylinder cuz you can mess them up due to them being FRM sleeves. make sure the shop you take it too knows and understands about them. it is an h22 correct

Re: f***0my engine???!!!

thats a cheap shot

i'm very skeptical about there not being any damage to the block if the rod snapped.

Re: f***0my engine???!!!

im sry but you have to take that as an achievement i mean how many ppl can say they have snapped one

but i wouldn't be hopeful that the block is any good especially the sleeves.its a sign toto resleeve with forged goodies

Re: f***0my engine???!!!

ok so I looked inside the cylinder today to see what the outcome was... There is only very minor damage... I was wondering if someone could tell me how low the pistons actually go inside the cylinder... There is maybe only damage 1/4 inch up into the cylinder where the rod snapped and hit the cylinder on the way down... it is not that bad so if the bottom piston ring wont go down to where the damage is I will just throw the new rod and piston in there with new rings, bearings and head set... and then sell it for 4000 to some pour sucker oh yeah cuz thats how us white people do it... lol anyway if anyone has that info let me know... thanks....

Jeff
