Ok so I got a nice autometer tach and msd coil that I wanna install... So a couple questions. For the tach signal wire which one is it on the coil plug and when I install the coil there are 3 wires on the plug for the coil... There is a pos a neg and what is the third one? Let me know what's up...

Re: tach and coil install questions

i believe the third wire is the signal wire. Your going to want to attach the wire for your tach to that wire... the + wire will only give you a constant 12v and the - well its just a ground
because our ludes still use a distributer to "distribute" the spark the coil needs a separate wire to signal what the rpms are... Im pretty sure you can attach that dude to a wire thats on the ECU but i dont know what wire that is...

Re: tach and coil install questions

Ok so here's what I got
Blk/yel from ignition to coil A(+)

Blk/yel from coil to disty

Blu from coil to ignition control module B(-) (this modulke is inside the disty assembly)

Yel from coil to ignition control module inside disty
C

Ok so here is what it looks like by the way if u want to look at the actual pic and have downloaded the online manual it is page 23-92.m..

So the is a box the wire from ig switch goes straight down the left side sqwigle line inside the box. From that the yel wire t's off and runs along the top and out the box. Then the blue wire t's off the yel on runs down the bux with another sqwigle line and then goes right and out the right side. In the front of the section the sqwigle lines are called coilsolenoids..

Hope that was useful let me know what's up...
