Weird EGR valve issue

Ok so I swapped in the h22a from my front clip and got everything installed. Took it out for a drive and as soon as it got to temp it would try to die when accelerating and would rev up and not drop revs between shifts. So I put on the original EGR off the h23 and it seemed to work ok... Here in lies the problem. After running the car pretty hard it does the weird ideling and not dropping revs between shifts... sometimes it even will try and die under acceleration. After driving for about 20-30 mins the CEL light comes on with code 12 which is the EGR valve... I looked the the RHD harness and the color wires going to the EGR valve are in a differant order so i still dont know if I have it right just plugging it into teh orig EGR off the h23... I also saw for sale on ebay a fast idel control valve and wondered if maybe that is what is bad. If you have any suggestions that would be great
