water pump and timing belt question

i have a problem with my 92 honda prelude, the water pump went bad and leaks fluid everwhere, while driving it to the shop it started to overheat, so i pulled over and poured water in the rad, started driving and the car shut off and wont start now, i let it cool and still wont start, when i turn the key to start it, it make a whining noise and and doesnt fire up at all,

what do you guys think happened, thanks

I named my Prelude after my grandmother-- Betty

does it turn over at all? Or does it just not fire? If it doesn't turn over it sounds like the motor seized but that tends to happen from lack of oil, not an overheating issue. Usually. lol The "whining" noise would more than likely be the starter trying to turn the motor. Kinda hard to diagnose it without being there.
If it turns over but just doesn't start it could be a totally un related issue from the overheating. (The way you said it just "shut off" while driving sounds like a distributor problem- trust me, I've been there 3-4 times. lol)
