Give me your opinions....

Ok, I have my 91 Lude...I LOVE the car. Its lots of fun and runs great. No problems at all and has a few lil decent mods but nothing major, mostly just VERY taken care of all its life.

It is in my sig, has 254k on the chassis *But no one would EVER guess*, the new Japanese Spec motor has only 70k or so on it. Clutch is great, brakes are great, Steering is great *4WS*. Has EXCELLENT interior, no rips or tears or burn marks. Dash is not cracked, all power options work. Has an aftermarket alarm with keyless remote, Sealed Beam conversion, Completely new A/C system incl. Wiring and all. The only thing that does not work is the Cruise, and I have not even messed with it. Has a new Kenwood head unit, brand new tint and currently have 2 sets of wheels, stock sawblades and the 17" 5Zigen 5ZR's that are on it in the sig pic.

I have contemplated selling it to drive my the other car I got for my wife, but am not sure what I wanna do for sure yet. Its a 98 Mustang GT we currently have for sale, it gets better gas mileage too belive it or not lol.

What do you honestly think I could get out of it? The paint is in Great shape also..Only paint problem is the trunk decklid needs reshot which is no biggie and could be done in one day. :) NO RUST anywhere either.
Just trying to decide if its worth it to try and sell it or just keep it. I know what I want for it, and this is not a for sale ad. Just trying to get some honest feedback on it.
THanks!
Dave

Well, it depends on where you live.
If you lived in Southern California, or just in California, they are all over the place, so the price would be low.
If you lived in Washington state, they run for $3-4000. Stock.

Over here in the tri-state region(NY, NJ, CT) they go for about $1000-$2000. the most.

If I was you, i would start at $2400. and $1800. would be the lowest i would go...

Try ebay, that way people can bid and your car will sell for a lot more than what i posted. . .

I am located in OKC. There are hardly ANY around here. I have only seen about 5 of them in the past 8 months.

I would not even consider 2400 for it honestly. Its just that good of a car and in killer shape/running condition. :)

But thanks for the input man!
Dave

Yeah, it would be a shame for you to let it go.
A few more years and the Prelude becomes your, "classic/historic" car. I'm sure your state has some law stating that vehicles over 25 years in age don't need very expensive insurance

Yeah that makes sense, but honestly insurance might be $250 a year with full coverage and 100 deducts lol

Keep it. No reason to give up a decent car because you have others. you'll wind up regretting it. Take it from someone that still got an itch for 4ws (despite driving a GTO.)

I dont know that I would regret it, after all I have had 35+ cars in my life so far, The car I have to replace it is the same way, runs great looks great and gets better gas mileage and is a V8 lol.

I have a 99 T/A that I can drive for speed when I want it, A 91 LX auto cross mustang I can race when I want, and we have a family car to carry everyone around in. I dont have much use for the 4ws although it is fun. :)

if you do end up selling it i would start up around 4000 for it, the only thing that is bringing that car down really is the amount of miles on the chassis. i paid 3500 for my white 4ws and it was in showroom shape and compleatly stock, which is what i wanted, but it only had 121,xxx on it when i got it, and i picked it up in ATL, the red 4ws we picked up here around charleston SC and paid 3000 for it with 145,xxx miles, but again like yours it was taken care of very well and the guy was asking 3800 for him but we had 3k in cash and he reluctantly took that after thinking about it for a few miniutes, then the black 4ws we picked up in kentucky it had 130,xxx on the clock, the guy was asking 4k for it and we offered him 3500 and he turned it down the he said 38 and we could have it and we lended up taking it home for 3700, but i guess the extra 200 was worth it because thats the one that had the center console/ armrest thing in it (the same thing that went for around 200$ on ebay a few weeks back) so i guess it depends on who knows what they are around you, like if they know preludes and how much fun the 3rd gens are to throw around, exspeshally ones with the 4ws then they wont try to low ball you on it... but like i said if you do lend up selling it then i would start off asking between 3 and 4k

That is right where I was wanting to be at honestly. I love you white one by the way!! Never see those anymore!

I listed it on Craigslist locally to see what kind of traffic it gets. Put it up for 3900 to see how it goes, if it doesent sell, no biggie, I dont "HAVE" to sell any of them. Just silly to have 5-6 cars with 2 people lol. I have a 3 car garage and 2 are sitting outside now haha. I sold our 91 Maxima last month...I have a problem!

haha thanks man, the white one is actually up on jackstands in the shop right now waiting for the JDM B20A to come in for it, so i put insurance back onto the Granada black one and i'm driving that one for now, it needed to be driven some anyway, it hasn't seen the road since March... but good luck with the sale but like you said, no biggie if it doesn't sell, personally i wouldn't let my white one or black one go for under 3500, hell i wouldn't even sell the wrecked red one for under a grand just because of the 4ws system and how clean and nice the interior still is in it...
