Low moneys for clutch instalation

Ok, so i pretty much have enough money to buy a new Exedy clutch kit for my 89 s. But i just dont have the money to get it installed professionally. i don't have a garage either and its 12 degrees outside with half a foot of snow on the ground. I might have to wait until spring, but that would SUCK!

So what should i do?

do you only have enough money for a clutch and thats it?
cuz you also need a flywheel (or get your stock one resurfaced), pressure plate, and throwout bearing.
and a regular clutch job is about 500 bones.

so if you dont have that kinda money layin around, i would hafta agree with putting a cheap one in. unless you can afford to not drive the car til the spring.

find yourself a friend with a garage and do it yourself. medium difficulty at best but you do need to have the car on some jackstands so you can work.
save you lots of $$$

well how mechanically inclined are you? and are any of your friends?

you just gotta be careful when buying a clutch kit. sometimes they come with flywheels and sometimes they dont. resurfacing/lightening your stock flywheel would prolly be around $50, but they can only lighten it to like 18 pounds. if you want a REALLY lightweight flywheel you gotta buy an aftermarket one like fidanza, cuz the stockers can't be lightened that much.

it's not that hard to do if you have a manual and some mechanical abilities, i can pull the tranny compleatly out of my car in an hour and thats by myself and i've also done it about 6 or 7 times, but it makes it much easier to put it back on if you have another pair of hands to help guide the shaft in from up top, the first clutch i put in the lude it took about 5-6 hours and that was with a friend helping
