Hello Everyone,
I have a huge dilemma!!! My 1991 Honda Prelude 2.1 Si ALB 182,000 started leaking oil the last 6 months. At first it wasn't so bad but the last 3 weeks I noticed a big problem. I was losing 2 quarts plus a day. I finally took it to my buddy who works at a Nissan dealership in the NW burbs of Chicago. Keep in mind at 150,000 I did a full timing belt tune up. I changed everything on that engine - crankshaft pulley, timing belt, tensioner, all gaskets/O-ring etc. Well after the mechanic checked it out it seems the mechanic I used before placed one of the spacers or guides backwards and oil was leaking out of my crankshaft pulley seal and it destroyed my timing belt cover (lower) due to it moving off of the pulleys and cams. 13622-PK2-010 PLATE, TIMING BELT GUIDE I can't find this part HAS ANYONE RAN INTO THIS? IS THEIR A REPLACEMENTR PART.. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Re: 13622-PK2-010 PLATE, TIMING BELT GUIDE I can't find this part
Are you talking about the two spacers on the crank sprocket? Might chew up a timing belt but loss of oil isn't part of it.One is beveled aft and the other beveled forward.. Are you using oil or leaking oil?

Hello,
Yes I am talking about the crankshaft pulley which the timing belt is used on. You are correct the washer is beveled. One of the two washers weren't assembled correctly and oil was leaking from the seal, their were another issues causing the oil leak that had to due with the assembly from the previous mechanic on the timing belt. I can't find the part. The Nissan dealership where my buddy works can't find it. How are people driving these cars if they can't get this important part??? |

Re: 13622-PK2-010 PLATE, TIMING BELT GUIDE I can't find this part
It's a discontinued part, so if you're looking for a new part you probably won't find it. You will be perfectly fine with a used part though. Junkyards, ebay, car-part.com for starters. You can also check the for sale sections of all the prelude forums for part-outs that people might be doing.

Those spacers were steel. Are they damaged? Sounds like something fell down and damaged the seal.

Re: 13622-PK2-010 PLATE, TIMING BELT GUIDE I can't find this part
I don't see why he would be looking for another one if it wasn't damaged in some way. But since he hasn't returned he probably found the part somewhere. I've heard of putting those on backwards and messing up the timing belt, but I'm not sure how you would damage one. Maybe the previous mechanic tried using a pulley puller on the crank timing gear and damaged it that way?

Re: 13622-PK2-010 PLATE, TIMING BELT GUIDE I can't find this part
Sorry for the late reply. Yes the timing guide was damaged. I was able to locate one from a older prelude and it seems to be working great. Unfortunately ran into another issue with my antifreeze reservoir what luck!!
