In the Spring...

ill buy a new front left quarter panel, and knock-out all the bondo on the left side, and re-do it. but i dont have the money to paint the car professionally. so, i feel really dumb asking this, and id rather not do this, but...
what steps should i take in priming the car?
color?
clear/protective coats?

I really don't like the look of primer that much, but it must be done once i redo the bondo and get the new quarter panel. any opinions or facts would help.

this is what im doing for mine. I'm primering it, wet sand it. knock out the dents, primer it again then i'm going to leave it primered until I get enough for a cheap paint job. the clear coats and stuff don't worry until you paint the car but make sure where (if you do it on ur own) has plent of ventilation and it doesn't get to humid. so like in a garage or something. but i'm not a good painter so yeah

Realizing that you have the two bastard engines of the bunch and will spend hours upon hours and years upon years hearing people with dem fancy bigger engines and finishing your build then smoking there ass's - A big ass headache but still priceless....until you wreck it.

well, im not sanding off all of the paint under it, just a good amount. so there will be minimal rust protection.
