3rd gen clutch problem

I was driving down the road yesterday and my clutch hit the floor and lost all pressure, the pedal kind of stuck halfway down. I'm thinking it might be the clutch slave cylinder, but I don't know anything about these cars. Any suggestions?

Re: 3rd gen clutch problem

I usually change the slave and master at the same time, whenever I replace the clutch. Not sure how to diagnose them seperately

Re: 3rd gen clutch problem

You are losing fluid from a leak in your clutch system which allowed air into the lines. It could be the master cylinder, slave cylinder, or the soft line that runs to the slave cylinder. Shouldn't be too difficult to determine what is leaking...look for the wet spot LOL. If it's the master you will probably see fluid on the firewall above the gas pedal (inside the car). The slave will look wet if it's leaking. And the rubber line will look wet if it's leaking. Also, I agree with ogsmakdade, it's a good idea to replace the slave and master cylinders as a set because it's likely that when one fails the other one isn't far behind. It's a pain to bleed the system after you have air in it and I wouldn't want to have to do that any more than is necessary.
