idle problems, i think?

all right, so when i turn my car on and let it warm up, right when it gets to its normal idle around 6 or 7 hundred. you can here the cars motor almost shut down, then it kicks back in at 2 hundred and goes back to normal idle speed. and it will constantly drop down and go back up over and over again until i drive it for a bit. whats up with that?

Idk, I took mine out, and I really don't have problems Idling...

Check to see if the belt's are tight

I had that problem, it could possibly be a vacuum leak or coolant problems. I got mine fixed from a site, I'll pm it to you if I find it again. I would first check the vaccum lines and see if there hooked up correctly then look for leaks.

Realizing that you have the two bastard engines of the bunch and will spend hours upon hours and years upon years hearing people with dem fancy bigger engines and finishing your build then smoking there ass's - A big ass headache but still priceless....until you wreck it.

nah its not stupid, asking how to start the car is. on the fuel injected engines (assuming you have it) on the intake has big lettering PGM FI or something along those lines to the far right there are 3 rubber hoses. those are the vaccum hoses or lines or w/e you want to call them. they just cause a vaccum in the engine. if hooked up wrong or having a hole in them can cause bouncy idle.

Both of you should try this when you have free time, im not entirely sure if its in the same place, but it should be, take off your intake and look inside your TB, before the butterfly valve, there should be two holes, start the car and plug one of those holes with your finger, if the idle problem ceases then its your Fast Idle Thermo Valve, i cant tell you exaclty where it is, but it should connect to those two holes. Look it up online for your generation and engine.

there is also a way on the fast idle valve where you take it off, make a gasket out of cereal box by cutting a small square piece and cutting the holes. Put that on and start the car. if it goes away then its the fast idle valve. I have never done this before but I heard it works.
