Car wont start

Hello fellas,

Need some serious help. Car was driving normal and then started to sputter and then it died. I can jump start the car but right after taking the cables off it sputters out and dies. I changed the ignition pack but doing same thing and checked all the fuses as well. When i try to start the car on its own the motor doesnt crank, it just makes a clicking noise under the dash. I need help. What could be wrong

Re: Car wont start

Just going by your description I'd suspect the alternator took a dump, you threw the alternator belt, or you have a broken alternator wire. Any of which allowed the battery to discharge to the point where you can no longer start the car. First make sure that the alternator belt is still there. If it is, take the alternator in and have it tested. I would also test the battery. Any auto parts store will test these, usually for free.

Re: Car wont start

Make sure your battery terminal connections are tight and not lose.

Re: Car wont start

So I replaced the ignition coil and that wasnt problem. I found out that it was the alternator failing and caused the battery to be dead
