Alternator Tension bolt Bracket Broken

Hello,

so the bolt and bracket for my alternator on my 91 prelude broke. Its the tension bolt on the front below the alternator and the small bracket it goes through broke. I am trying to locate another one of these parts to replace it. Where can I find one?

Re: Alternator Tension bolt Bracket Broken

There's nothing special about it if it's the bolt I'm thinking of. I would think you would have more difficulty getting the broken part of the bolt out than sourcing a replacement bolt. Maybe you could post a pic so that we know exactly which bolt you're talking about.

Re: Alternator Tension bolt Bracket Broken

Luzer,

Thanks for the response.
I know what bolt you are talking about. The little bracket that that bolt goes though is broke in half. When looking down at it you see the two bolt heads and the little bracket they go through is what is broken. I will take a picture when I get home from work

Re: Alternator Tension bolt Bracket Broken

So you didn't break the bolt, but the small square piece that the bolt goes through? How would you break that? I may have a spare laying around somewhere. Still waiting on a picture though to be sure of exactly what you need.
