Door handle fix

So the other day my door handle broke so I thought great, and today I took off the panel and took off the 2 10mm bolts from the hand itself but Ithe seems to be stuck on something else, besides me scratching more paint and throwing more tools can some one help me?

Re: Door handle fix

Update: I figured out what's holding it and it's the part the attaches the door release to the handle but it's not budging no matter how much I pull is there a certain way to remove this?

Re: Door handle fix

Interior or exterior door handle? There are plastic clips that fasten the rod to the door handle. The inner door handle is pretty easy. The exterior handle is a pain in the ass. It takes patience and dexterity. Sorry, I don't have a procedure for you to follow. I just looked at it and figured it out on my own. It's been several years since I changed one so I can't be more specific.

Agreed. Wouldn't wish it on an enemy.

I am pretty sure there was a hidden something or other holding it in (as per usual w/3g cars)

EXT: How To fix 5th gen "winged" door handles (PICS)

This should give you a good idea. I was doing this fix though and couldn't take them off, so just ended up doing it on the car.
Good luck

Re: Door handle fix

I use a small pair of long handled dikes. The cutting head is about .5 inch wide and the handles are about 4-5inches long. I use them like I am trying to cut between the handle and whitish clip on the bent side of the rod. As the cutting jaws close they work as wedges to press the rod with the clip on it out of the door handle.
