$350 Prelude has a transmission..... Still need help.
Ok so I just had my transmission replaced.
-$125 for a used a few hoses and battery cable. -Cyl sensor has new seals. -I put marvel mystery oil in the engine and gas. -Clean the throttle body -New anti freeze -add Lucus steering wheel stop leak to help with the bad seal on the steer wheel pump(Honda doesn't sell the seal anymore. That's with me giving them the part number) Now the hard part. -The computer is try to relearn the air to gas ratio so it idles hi rpm low rpm -I seem to have smoking coming from somewhere. It seems to be the radiator but I'm not sure. Bc I don't see leaks. Last edited by Jpjpops; 11-17-2015 at 08:47 PM. Reason: Sorry also.... |

P.S. glad to see you got trans, sorry I took to long. Last edited by luda8890; 11-18-2015 at 12:31 AM. |

You are the man..... No problem about getting back to me. Do you have an suggestion on good performance cold air intake and exhaust pipe?

Re: $350 Prelude has a transmission..... Still need help.
O Reileys still carries those ps pumps. The O2 sensors are 28 bucks at Autozone. pads and rotors are very inexpensive. I got a c.v axle at Oreileys a few weeks ago and I think it was 57 bucks. 50 for the core. Did that idle bounce from low to high when you first got this car ?

Re: $350 Prelude has a transmission..... Still need help.
Ok new update.... The car idle is great right now. I started it today and tapped the gas. It started the low/hi RPM again. After 30sec it stopped and leveled out😄. Now I burped the coolant too but not much air air in the system.
Now I'm faced with something new. It seems that when I hit the gas a poof of smoke come up from where the header sits. I'm assume it's exhaust not smoke. could this be a result of a bad muffler? |

For headers, I think OBX and pacesetter are the only ones manufacturing them anymore. The pacesetter has the two o2 sensor bungs for the 88-89 ludes, and has the EGR fitting too. Although you have to use use the EGR tube from a 90-91 Prelude. This is the pacesetter: Pacesetter Exhaust Header Systems 88 89 Honda Prelude SI 2 0L B20A 4 Cyl 70 1241 | eBay The OBX comes in stainless steel and has two versions. The slip joint version does not have the EGR fitting or O2 bungs, so you may need to have the bungs added. OBX Racing Exhaust Header Tri Y 88 89 90 91 Prelude SI 2 0L with Slip Joint | eBay The fanged OBX comes with EGR fitting and both O2 bungs used for the 88-89. OBX Racing Sports SS Exhaust Manifold Header 88 91 Honda Prelude 2 0L 4CYL B20A | eBay If you have a 90-91 prelude, you need to have an O2 bung welded in the "A" pipe (down pipe) no matter what header you use. For cold air intakes, This one is made ludespeed. He is no longer around, but his products still pop up from time to time, and some are copied by others.
