SOS fello luder friends

My 88 4ws si is having a problem. it was having a surging idle problem andi was just hoping it was a vacuum leak some where. well i had a buddy look at it and it looks like my obd1 computer is bad. still testing it to make sure but it does not look good. so i look out to my fello luders to see if anyone knows where i can come by a new comp for my car. please help me out i would hate to get rid of my car just because of some stupid comp.

Re: SOS fello luder friends

Still have this problem? 88 is still technically OBD0. I have a few 88 ECU's. Automatic or manual trans? I can send one your way if you want.

If you keep your old one, $65 shipped

If you send me your old one as a core, $50 shipped

If you send me one for repair, starts at $40 plus shipping (this covers 1 hour of diag and solves most ECU faults and parts. This is usually the cheapest route, but also takes the longest)

unplug your coolant temp sensor and see if the problem changes. If so, check for air in your cooling system or faulty sensor.
unplug your IAC and set base idle, if this is too high it will cause surging.
Check for a vacuum leak at your IAB shaft, these seals are often rotted out, sometimes even whistle.
