Water leaking onto passenger floor board

Hey guys,

I was wondering if anyone else has had something like this? I was talking with another forum member about this but im still unsure if it is my a/c or if it could be a leak coming in through the firewall. Either way I have to crack into my dash board and I'll start with the glove box I guess.

Re: Water leaking onto passenger floor board

Most likely its the condensation overflow hose.

Re: Water leaking onto passenger floor board

Dry the floor.
Wash your car. See if it's wet then.
Could be the windshield leaks.

Smell antifreeze perhaps? Heater coil would be a suspect there.

I'd be surprised if it's ac related, unless it's condensation in the ducts.

Re: Water leaking onto passenger floor board

Press your hand into the carpet. If it gets slippery, even kinda slimy, its your heater core. If its just wet, check the drain hose first, then move onto external leaks. To check the windshield, use a generous amount of glass cleaner or soapy water all the way around the outside trim, then blow compressed air all the way around the inside. A leak will blow bubbles.

Sometimes when I come to a stop after a hard rain, My windshield pillars leak from where the moonroof is supposed to drain.

Looks like your water leak is worse than we thought!

This is an actual picture that AllyWay sent me... This wasn't taken in his car, but him in a Surface Supplied Air Suit for working underwater...

I told him, "Johnny, You just might need that soon if you don't look into fixing that leak..."

You just need to clean out the drain holes... Should fix the issue... Or else you TOO may need one of those suits!

Re: Water leaking onto passenger floor board

For the front tubes, about halve way down the "a" pillar. For the rear tubes, under the rear bumper just above the floor line.

THe drains your talking about I believe are for the sun roof. The drain for the a/c I think, like most cars, feeds right through the bottom of the firewall. Im wondering if my tube is even clogged now because I saw the a/c dripping out the bottom of my car onto the pavement. The water was drippěng off the passenger side axel, so I think its near above there.

So I took the time to watch the and feel under the dash board while the a/c was running. It seemed like the whole unit got cold enough that water was just raining down off anywhere. Im near enough just cutting away the already ruined and probably mildewed carpet and drilling a drain hole through the floor board.

The front tubes terminate inside the front fenders, just forward of the firewall. No need to remove the fenders if you want to get to them. You can access them by removing the plastic fender liners. Somewhere I have a picture showing one, but it may not have survived a recent computer crash.

Correct... Lespaul59 kinda got but still a draining issue none-the-less...

LUCKY!!! (That your car is blowing that cold...)I am thinking that yeah, its condensation on the OUTSIDE of the evaporator box, or maybe maybe the drain hose coming off the bottom of the evaporator box is loose or worn so all of it isn't making it to the outside of your car, or the drain hose could be partially blocked so you still see a drip, but maybe not fast enough to drain properly... There's also the possibility that the box itself is cracked cause the lower portion should essentially be like a bowl and hold the water.

Just ideas that are coming to my head.

Glad to see you back on here Johnny...
