Headlight options?

I have a 3rd gen and I've noticed that the stock headlights aren't very bright, so I was wondering what you guys/gals are running. And are there any other headlight options (HID, retrofits, etc.)?
Thanks,
Kev

Well, one of the more popular conversions you can do is the H4 conversion...
it looks something like this:

It isn't a sealed h6 like our Preludes have stock, this one uses an H4 bulb(of your choice). Type in, "Honda Prelude H4" and you'll find a list of these glass replacement lights.

I still sport these today:

(That was with a 4300K h4 bulb, i now have a 4000K bulb.)

Hey, where did you buy the autopals? I tried going on to their site, but they don't have a list of dealers.

I've found the whole deal for like $63 bucks. Im just curious how they compare to the eBay projectors and stuff. These stock headlights definitely suck

^That sounds right.
You'd be surprised, the ebay H4 conversions comes with decent bulbs. My first set came with Polarg 4300K bulbs as you see in the pic in post #2.

So do you need any other kind of special equipment for the lights or is it just a simple swap? This is the 1st time I have heard about these lights and I want them!

Yes, take out your old sealed H6 lights, replace with these...plug in play. You may want to adjust them afterwards though...

OH and to add, HID kits are available for almost every application, including our cars. You get the H4 conversion lights, then buy the HID kit in H4 and voilĂ*, HIDs!

*note: Some kits only offer low beam only. Make sure to get the kit that offers both low & high - spend the extra $ for your safety. Also, read your state and DOT laws about HID's...

I'm running one off ebay, I've heard some bad things about them but I got nothing but praise. The lights are bright, real HID's, ballast and all ran be about 120, had them in my cougar before hand, so theyve been goin for about a year now and I couldn't be happier with them. They could be brighter if I went for a lower color temp, but I got the 6000k's instead of the 4300k

or should I get this one?

Do you have bi-xenon or the halogen for high beams?

mine are halogen high beams, but my lights are separate, its a 4th gen. Those kits look like the same kind of deal mine are, except they're bixenon, which is what you want.

Tonight I installed a set of the Silvania Silver stars.

Before I went into the project and I had no idea what to do, I was worried it would be really hard or tricky or soemthing, I found out it wasn't. So I decided to take pictures along the way for the headlight removal and installation. Does anyone think it would be a decent idea to put up my little walkthrough?

I also have information on headlight alignment (which I had no idea I was messing with until after I realized they were unaligned)

I will put it up tomorrow on this topic or maybe make another one. (which I could use advice on, this one or a new one?)

And I think they are pretty good for budget lights.

A lot better than my stock dirt McGirt bulbs.

But don't ask me how he did it; I don't know and he won't tell me (just that it was too hard to do again)

Yes you can, but the thing is you need to buy the HID bulb that has both HIGH & LOW beam functions...which is extra $.

Must be my nite....

Bri's been sporting these lights cause I did the SEARCH for these bitches and they make everything brighter. The autopals really focus better than OEM, (i don't know about those diamond cut ebay no-name kits)

Also look up Piaa H4 and you'll see the full line of bulbs that fit no prob. Personally, Hella Optiarc bulbs are purply white, get 4000 k* (that's enough for anyone) and run you about 19.00 in autobarn instead of $35 and up for the JDMs, with little difference. It's your call. Don't HID, the lamps with shoot the lighting everywhere. Look at bri's pics with 4000 bulbs.

HERE IS A DIRECT LINK FOR THE SELLER OF THE AUTOPAL LIGHT SYSTEMS:

eBay My World - rimiinc

SEARCH" 200mm H4 H6054 HEADLIGHTS"

Re: Headlight options?

i know this thread has been dead for like 3 YEARS according to last post, but ive been doing too much question ASKING and not enough POSTING or CONTRIBUTION.

i was browsing through this post, as well as others, and saw there was question about running TRUE HIDs in our 3g ludes (ballast and everything), the only main issue unless you have done something custom to clear out room in the engine bay (ex battery relocation, coolant reservoir relocation, etc.) is, where to put the ballast in a safe location?

underneath the top of the headlight bezel, id show pics but i have none yet, but my friend has had his placed there for over a year now and hes never had a problem, even with the headlight motors, as well as the light being projected very well, and cleanly with the cut-off line.

on a negative note they are bright as effing sin to drive past him, being my lude sits lower than his, hes running 10k bulbs right now...

Re: Headlight options?

^^^i have 6k hids in mine, almost did the battery location but instead tied one of the ballast to the battery tray and the other just behind the light and worked fine. they don't have a bad cut off line, but only one side has the brights now because i blew a ballast a while ago and the other side decided it wanted to blow something as well
