Re: NEW hailing from SC

Hey guys. ive owned this car coming up on a year now. been sitting for almost half of that time. scared to drive it with these burnt up valves and leaking oil.

with all that being said, im looking at rebuilding the motor and making this a reliable car again. but im really not sure where to start. right now, the first step is going to be to pull the head off and address the failing valves.

my question is, because im pushing boost, are all stock parts a waste to rebuild with? or should i go with higher performance? im not looking to "fully build" for 15k but i want a good strong h22 that i can beat on with 5psi of boost comfortably. what do yall suggest?

Stock internals should be fine with only 5 lbs of boost, as long as you're not planning to go higher. The problem is that once you start down the forced induction road you'll want to add more and more boost. You get used to the speed, and it starts to feel slow. How disciplined are you?

If it was me, I'd probably upgrade the internals.
