3RD GEN EBAY/CRAIGSLIST/AMAZON Finds

I noticed that there isn't one of these for the 3RD Gens so I thought I'd create one.

If possible, can we "STICKY" it like the Threads for the other GEN's?

I'll start it off in the next post...

I keep forgetting about this thread. I've seen quite a few cool rare items lately.

Yeah I just got it "Stickey'd"... I had forgotten about it too... and I created it! :P I was reminded when I opened my ebay account and saw those items in my reccomendations... Figured I'd share them. Was kinda thinking about getting one of those center tail/brake lights. Kinda kool.

Re: 3RD GEN EBAY/CRAIGSLIST/AMAZON Finds

That won't work with your 89 Tony. It's for 90/91 models. You can convert, but it's a ton of work (I did that a couple summers ago). And you'd also need the outer tail lights as well. And just so you know, it doesn't light up. It's just the center garnish.

Thanks for the info... Nevermind then. I knew the 90/91 tail lights were different in color scheme, but didn't realize that they were different in shape as well.

It was a "novel" idea but not a necessary "Kool MOD to have"...

HOWEVER... I AM enjoying using my fog lights without having to open the pop-ups.

Re: 3RD GEN EBAY/CRAIGSLIST/AMAZON Finds

Now the INX center garnish I bought has recepticlez to make it light. But I sold the car I was gonna use it on and figured nobody in their right mind would give me $150 for it...(that's what I paid) so it sits in the parts hoard in that special place with the never used 3g floor mats with the card still stapled to 'em.

I did the swap because I like the 90/91 lights better than the 88/89. Having done it once, I wouldn't do it again though. To do this swap right, you need to replace the rear pan because the bolt pattern is completely different. So is the trunk key hole location. You also need a 90/91 trunk lid and 90/91 rear bumper cover and bumper support (you also need the three sections of tail lights of course). I was lucky and found the trunk lid and bumper parts real cheap. The rear pan I bought from Honda. It was $240. I already had the tail lights from a couple years before. It was a lot of work.

You never know unless you try. Over the years I've seen a lot of people post that they wanted INX parts. And I but you could sell the floor mats too, especially if they're in new condition. List them on ebay and then post a link here and in the other forum's ebay finds sticky.

Re: 3RD GEN EBAY/CRAIGSLIST/AMAZON Finds

Thanks for all the info... And for talking me out of it!

I have "enough" things I still need to do to my car to make it 100% Road-Worthy and I really shouldn't do any other unnecessary MODS before taking care of them.

Re: 3RD GEN EBAY/CRAIGSLIST/AMAZON Finds

Yeah, the never ending maintenance thing or as I like to say "the restoration" can be boring or thrilling depending on your style and goals.
I think most start out adding some pizazz intending on getting around to fixing the squeaks and rusty stuff someday.

Mike, the floor mats are for when the black n tan is show ready. I acquired them from a collection along with some other really nice stuff. The idea being that the 91 would someday be looking close to showroom new.
Only thing I have not found (and probably won't) is the driver side door decal with the VIN #...it was gone when I got the car yet the 'do not remove' sticker is still on the sunroof...go figure.

Oh, I am "almost done"... (Notice the quotes)... I am enjoying fixing her up... And glad that now, I have the money to do so as opposed to taking "forever" with my 78 Skylark when I was 19-27 yrs old and in the Navy...

Because I was always broke... Or off on deployment. Time is the only limiting factor now... Well, and the weather. Guess If I had an air conditioned garage to work in, then it would only be time...

And maybe money would again become an issue if I was having to pay for that air conditioned garage...

But seriously, Just a few more things to fix/restore and i'll only be left with the Routine stuff... And whatever decides to give out. Keeping my fingers crossed that these items will be limited!

Re: 3RD GEN EBAY/CRAIGSLIST/AMAZON Finds

Thanks Luzer. I've lost 'cover' for both ludes. I hate seeing them sit out in the weather even though I cover them. I don't have to sell them, but throwing it out there for interest. I know it seems like a lot to pay, but like you said, both are worth it.....ready to roll. Hope U R doing well.

Re: 3RD GEN EBAY/CRAIGSLIST/AMAZON Finds

Not sure if self-promotion is allowed, but these Gen 3 seats wouldn't work in my '86 (go figure).

https://greenville.craigslist.org/pts/6186264241.html

They're a little dusty, but otherwise they're in great shape.
Just putting it out there for those who might be in the hunt.
