Head Gasket Torque Specs

Hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii, I know I rarely get on much buuuuut today I went ahead and tore the Prelude's motor apart. Since the last time I ever did motor work it took me 3 days to get a head off but today I removed the Prelude's head with the carb intake in 3 1/2 hours, it's quite a difference with a extra year of experience in mind. Anyway I'm sending the head in to be ported and polished as well as a necessary insert for spark plug #2. Carburetor is also getting sent out to be rebuilt, after that reassembling begins, may go and get arp head bolts along with a fancy head gasket if budget allows. Anyway b20a3 torque specs anyone?

Re: Head Gasket Torque Specs

Have you downloaded a shop manual?

It's in there if you have. If not, say so and somebody will get you some diagrams or tell you where to find them.

Re: Head Gasket Torque Specs

It's in the online manual on page 5-44. It's a two stage process so make sure you follow that exactly. The first stage you torque to 22 ft-lb, the second stage you torque to the final 49 ft-lb. Here's a link...
