Re: 4ws question

In North America, only the Si.

Why do you believe your car is an S? Do you have twin carbs under the hood?

Re: 4ws question

Doesn't say "si" anywhere. Its a 89' prelude 4ws. Fuel injection. Must be an si4ws

Re: 4ws question

It's an Si. There should be a "4WS Si" badge on the right side of the trunk lid, but it's not uncommon for them to disappear, either.

Unless a previous owner converted it to 4WS. My first 3rd gen was an S model, and I converted that one to 4ws.

Lack of badges doesn't mean anything really. In The US, if it's fuel injected it's an Si. Si = Sport injection, S = Sport. If you want to see if a lude has 4WS, you can get down and look under the rear of the car to see if it has a rear steering rack. If it does it's 4WS, and if not it's 2WS. The rear rack resembles a small differential.

On North American models the 4WS badges were on the B-pillars and the steering wheel button also indicated whether the car had 4WS. There was no 4WS badge on the trunk lid. Other markets did have 4WS badge on the trunk lid on North American models though.

Re: 4ws question

Well if the rear wheels turn it's either 4WS or something is seriously wrong with it...LOL.

The center "button" on the steering wheel. The piece that has the H Honda symbol. If I remember correctly, 88/89 models will say "four wheel steering system" at the bottom. 90/91 models simply had 4WS at the bottom. If yours doesn't have it then either someone swapped it out or your car wasn't 4WS from the factory. Since your VIN shows that it was an original 4WS car then someone may have swapped out the horn button for some reason.
