Anyone have a spare oem rim?

I've been searching for quite some time; but have not been able to procure a stock 90/91 oem sawblade rim (driver side).

I'm looking for silver and driver side.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Anyone have a spare oem rim?

Rare items these days.

- Probably one of the best chances you'll have to finding one is a junkyard these days. Can't speak for where you live but usually a few a year show up at junkyards in many areas. If you look at auto recycling facilities (formerly known as junkyards) web sites, many have a wishlist. You simply fill it out and they email you when your chosen vehicle(s) arrive. I say vehicle(s) because some times they arrive in spurts.
- Car-part.com has used stuff. But for 1 blade you'd be looking at the same cost you could get all 4 at the junkyard.
- Maybe join a local facebook group. That's how I scored a set of white ones.
- Maybe a forum member who is maybe near you so s&h wouldn't be so bad.

Try looking up nearby junkyard listings in local phone book and expand your search using 'roadkill customs.com' (all 1 word) for junkyard listing in the state you pick.
I was able to turn a decent 3g into a really nice 3g in about 6 months using junkyard parts that were better than my car had. Even found a clock with a cover.

Re: Anyone have a spare oem rim?

How many blades do your wheels have? The 5?

NVM... I got my answer when I viewed the picture! LOL!

Re: Anyone have a spare oem rim?

Yes, it was the 5 bladed wheel. Wheelcollision.com is getting me one from one of their suppliers and remanufacturing it for me to complete my set.

So now I will have a complete set of remanufactured oem wheels.

Now getting brand new looking center caps are a little bit trickier.....

Re: Anyone have a spare oem rim?

Again, scour junkyards. Older Accords used to and (if memory serves) Odyssey vans use them.
Side note: my mercury villager uses the identical size center cap. Someone stole one so we had an ugly one with an H in the center on it for a while.

Perfect? Eh, best of luck there. But nice ones are out there. If you feel real adventerous and can mask well, a head light restore kit and some Krylon will do wonders.

Re: Anyone have a spare oem rim?

Hate to burst a bubble but two weeks ago I got two accord center caps and they don't fit!.The diameter is the same but the locking tabs are completely different. Unless I got something wrong but It's identical looking with the H in the middle. Looks just like my two lude caps but no go. Unless there was a difference in rim diameter?

Re: Anyone have a spare oem rim?

I had the same issue on my 91. The Accord center caps didn't fit the same way.

Re: Anyone have a spare oem rim?

Well I suppose the ones I got from inside an Accord were from a Prelude?

Re: Anyone have a spare oem rim?

Yes its true. The accord center caps that you can still buy from the dealer are about the same size OD, but the inner ring diameter (where the lock tabs are) is a good half inch bigger, so they don't fit the oem prelude wheels.

Since the center cap is actually a metal foil that has been pressed around a plastic body, you can remove the new foil from the accord center cap and replace your aged looking "foil" on an old prelude cap. Its not perfect but its close.

Re: Anyone have a spare oem rim?

Seems like a lot of trouble to go through. I'd probably just rough the old ones up a bit and paint them if I wanted to make them look like new. That is if I were still running my stock sawblades.
