1989 honda prelude 2.0s cranks but won't start

I bought my prelude for cheep when I bought it had alot of shorts in the wireing harness and had conections taped together. It was starting but battery kept during due to parasitic loads in the wireing harness. The coolant temperature sender was reading wrong my temp gage on the dash would go all te way up to over heating. I jumped to conclusions and replaced my head gaskit and the wouldn't start after the job. I duobble checked my timeing an did it by the service manual so I know it's not a timeing issue. The car starts with starting fluid but won't stay on un less I pump the gas pedal so I'm assuming I have spark. My conclusion is a bad fule pump. I checked the fule pump fuse for a blown fuse and everything looked good. I don't have a fuel pressure tester so I can't pressure test the system. I was wondering if it may have anything to do with any vacume lines or sensors and mabe not the fuel pump if anyone can help me out I'd apreasheate it alot thanks !!

If you just did a head gasket, you may have forgotten a vacuum hose or have another vacuum leak of some sort...go back and double check all your hoses.

Or it could be coincidently your pump went out.

Yea your probbalby wright it might be something as little as a diconected hose. I'm gonna spary some soapy watter on it this weekend to look for leaks an test the fuel pump outside of the car hopefully it's the fule pump an not a vacume problem. I only need the car to start up and be drivable for now I'm saveing up to do a full b20b swap or something that dosent require me to modify the body of the car. Id like to keep it looking original on the outside.

Hey bro open your petrol cap, stick your ear to it and get someone to turn the car on (not to start, it's to hear the pump priming) and listen out for it, hey maybe the relays fully gone belly up? Normally you can hear it from inside the cabin though... Also check your fuel filters not blocked and check your injectors, If there are no leaks it's either a blockage or lack of power. You got this
