A/C warning light keeps coming on

So I briefly started to talk about this issue in another thread but since this issue has now moved away from the title of that thread i am starting this one.

The A/C warning light comes on frequently. bare in mind that i live in south Florida where the winter afternoons still get very warm if not hot. so i am currently using or attempting to use this function. when the light comes on, from what i noticed the clutch stops spinning on the compressor. Sometimes I vaguely think this issue has something to do with temperature. today there was overcast, it was "chilly" and there was rain. so it wasn't as hot today. i ran the a/c as i was driving around today with no issues, it was blowing cold. then finally tonight on my way back from the market the warning light clicks on again, and I can only wonder if it is because it finally became too warm from all the driving. because the question at this point might be in your thoughts; the engine shows no sign of overheating. then again, i don't how these engines or cars overheat, if its gradual or like kablam.

for those of you who didn't see the other thread, i just had a lot of components on my a/c replaced very recently (last week). these parts include;
  • drier (no place for a sensor to screw in, so the wiring was tricked for whatever reason to get the a/c to run.)
  • compressor (reman from an '89 cause though my car is a '90 it has the fittings from an '89)
  • Expansion valve

it was a hot day the a/c was replaced and long drive back and the compressor light did not come back on. in fact, i didn't notice it come on all the times i was using it till around three days later. then it almost appears to come on at random and shut off the compressor.

when the compressor does work it blows cold.

one of the things i did notice when poking around down there were a few things.
  • the drier had no air bubbles that i could see in the sight glass
  • the connector coming from the a/c looked a little melted or warped from heat but is intact and the wires look good from what i can see looking down in.
  • this next one boggled me a little, for some reason my condenser fan motor was unplugged. I wonder if the mechanic did that on purpose for some reason, carelessly forgot it, or it was just loose and wiggled free of its self. Either way the condenser from what i understand should run the full length of the radiator? i can understand one fan may not be enough to cool it though. Either way i reconnected that cable and the compressor still shuts off.
  • Lastly, a final detail. my belt squeals at first if I start the car with the A/C on. I didn't change the belt while doing the a/c and i could almost kick myself for it. some think it may be the cause or a contributor to the issue. but to be honest, before and after, i don't feel any compromises in the belt. everything feels in there, nothing missing that i found on my checks. Besides when the a/c finally shuts itself off, I don't hear the belt having anything to say about it. just the revs change.

so yeah I think that sums it up. It's all i can think of. Lastly I'll add my sentiments to the situation,
(not necessarily felt in that order, but maybe)

Re: A/C warning light keeps coming on

since its so quite in this thread and even this section of the forum that you can hear the crickets chirping I went and did some digging for an answer. Since my first idea is to change to the belt. and the more I read about the A/C, the more I think it's the belt. I haven't replaced the belt yet because it is a little difficult finding a video on how to do so and any search result with the words Honda/ Prelude and belt are always going to, for the most part, bring you to loads of discussions about the timing belt. The manuals we have are a little vague if they show at all how to do so. Either way, for anyone stumbling around the 3rd gen section looking for some answer to a similar issue, I'll post some helpful links that I found that can explain some other possible causes.

Compressor Control Unit Fix

3G Prelude A/C Warning Light

the video i attached is for an accord. But it is a very similar set up if not identical to ours as far the component placement and the way the belts lay over them.
