1 flat or 2?

Hi guys! Yes the old leaking power steering pump seal slinging fluid on my drivers headlight cover. Before I order it..... The two choices are one flat or 2 for the pullEy. I really don't wanna disassemble it and put it back together. Just curious what the options were and for what years otherwise I'll have no choice. 1990 ALB 2.1. i THINK MY OTHER LUDE HAD LEFT HAND THREADS FOR THAT PULLEY BOLT.

Re: 1 flat or 2?

I'm not following your question about 1 flat or 2.

As far as the threads go, as far as I know all 3rd gens have left hand threads on the power steering pump pulley bolt. Every one I've worked on was.

Re: 1 flat or 2?

Where the actual pulley mounts to the pump shaft. The shaft has either 1 flat or 2. Sort of like a keyway where it can only go on one way.

Re: 1 flat or 2?

Guy at the parts counter said "1 or 2" once upon a time.
I tried taking mine apart not realizing it was lefty-tighty (until I read it in this thread just now. Doh!) Gave up and bought another pump.

Haha, okay I get it. I honestly don't remember if there was one flat or two. The easiest way to know is to pull your pulley off and look. It's pretty easy to do. It honestly takes me 3 minutes to do that. But it helps that I have a 24 inch extension for loosing the tensioner pulley.

Well yeah, that's also pretty important.
