88 Lude dual carbs

Have an 88 Lude with dual carbs. Bought it this way, hoping to fix it, and have not been able to accomplish it.
I have learned these dual carbs are a nightmare...Question: I would prefer to find an affordable carbs substitute and replace these exisisting duals. Anyone know what options there are out there?

NEED HELP.

Re: 88 Lude dual carbs

Did it run when you bought it? If not then you'll need to know how long it's been sitting with gas.

Re: 88 Lude dual carbs

There is no bolt on solution to replace the stock carbs. Anything you do will be custom. Some of the 2nd gen guys have replaced them with dual Webber carbs, but this requires a custom intake manifold, among other things. Honestly, unless you are very good at fabrication, you might be better off just converting to fuel injection. At least there are write-ups for doing that. If you really want to stick with carbs, I have a couple spare sets that I'd sell pretty cheap if you want them for spare parts.
