AUTO TRANS COMPATABILITY

Looked at tiger japanese and they have a auto trans listed for 199 bucks but it says 88-91. Thought the splines were different on the 90-91. Or was it the wheel hubs? Any input? Cause mine is a 90.

^^ 3g axles

Found this photo when researching the 5th axles.
Now I would wonder if the stage 2 are used in the B21 cars while the stage 1 used in the B20 cars.

Pretty much got flamed for driving like a jackass and was told to slow down. And I'll be damned, slowing down fixed it.

The only thing that bothers me about that picture is that it only tells half the story. The spline count is right, but the pic leads one to believe that both axles are the same (left and right). 3rd gens use different axles on each side, and they are not interchangeable. You can actually install them backwards, but the inner splines are different between the two sides. I would attach a picture if I had one of each axles from my 89, but I can't take a pic of something I don't have. I don't remember for sure, but in that picture it looks to me like the 90/91 axle is from the passenger side and the 88/89 is from the driver side.

Re: AUTO TRANS COMPATABILITY

That is from the surtrack website for the usdm driver side.

I showed it because of the difference in length of the splines at the inner knuckle...the part that insert into the differential.

But you may also notice the outter knuckle is larger on the 90/91, which in this case is not related to Les' question, but still...
