Re: 3rd gen prelude intake manifold adapters

In general, aftermarket intake manifolds will flow better and improve performance. Otherwise there would be no reason to buy them.

That's good news LUDEicrous. I'll be interested to see what he comes up with. I'm just wondering how much of a difference it will make on a stock tune. Because to really take advantage of bolt-on's like this you should tune for it. And since our ecu's aren't tune-able (especially with OBD0), there will be more involved than just buying and bolting on an aftermarket intake manifold. Thanks for sharing that information!

Re: 3rd gen prelude intake manifold adapters

Wish someone would make a complete H22 conversion kit with everything including mounts, ecm, etc.......... No more looking around and piecing it all out first.

Thats not a problem to do, you will just pay more for an entire kit.

Other than the mounts and traction bar, and Engine harness all the other parts like:

1. Axles
2. shift linkage and shift assembly

Is all that is needed.

And since you can get all those parts from either local or online sources, there really is no need to produce an all in one kit, because pricing would make it too expensive for the average person to afford.

That is why just the mounts, traction bar, and engine harness are the core components.

Engine/tranny/ECU are going to vary in price from state to state or country, so that is not possible to do a kit with all of that.

Besides I provide pretty much everything for the swap minus the OEM parts that can be gotten from easier sources.

1FunRyd ยท Performance Customs - Its all there.

On another note:
Cheddas work is outstanding, and I am working with him to try and bring some parts that would benefit the community.
But here is what I see is an issue:
(1.) the B18a1 manifolds which would be the skunk2 one he is talking about is going to hit our rear mount and heater core pipes due to our 18 degree lean.
(2.) Our stock manifolds do perfectly fine for NA and turbo applications, our motors do not see power that high up in the rev range, and since the B18's are higher reving motors, how will that make power for our motors?
It will allow for bigger throttle bodies, but an adapter for the throttle bodies would be the cheaper and easier route to go over using a manifold that techincally will not benefit our lower reving motors.

Chedda believes that we should still make more power with this setup, but he even stated that it might not be much.
So its more of a bling factor to use a different intake manifold.

But we shall see as he stated he keep test fitting until he gets it right, but the real problem is what is the ulitmate goal here??? Bling or power??

IF people want it, far be it from me to stop progress on that, but I would rather see products that we really need from someone with his skill set vs making parts that look good and have minimal to no gain in performance.

Just my opinion, so please I do not want anyone to take it the wrong way, as I want more parts made for us, just parts that improves our performance over just being able to use another part off another motor with no gain.
