reversing lights + others

bought an 89 prelude with a b20a in it, the car flies, has full exhaust system with pod filter, lowered with full leather interior,
i like it,

but it has a load of realy minor problems with it, im slowly fixing them, like the aircon and cruise control dont work,
but a problem im stuck on at the moment is my reversing lights

when i bought it it had no lights in it, i bought some, installed them, and when the car is on, they are on, i cant turn them off, whether im reversing or not,
if anyone has anyideas on how i could fix it, or where i should look for the problem it would be a great help, thanks

When you say you bought some lights, did you buy the whole center section or just replaced the light bulbs?
Is your car an automatic or manual?
Have you fixed the problem or is this thread still good?

nah i havent fixed it yet, the cars getting att the suspension and steering redone, but i still need to know how to do it for when i get it back,
its a manual, and i bought new globes for it,

the globes work fine, if the cars running they stay on, and i cant turn them off,

Have you checked out the switch on the transmission to see if it is messed up. You should have 1 green/black and 1 yellow wire going to it. The yellow wire goes to #13 fuse under the dash and the green/black wire goes to the tail lights. It kind of sounds like the wiring is by-passing the switch and the 2 wires are wired together.

Hey, check this thread out, it might be of some use to you.

http://www.preludepower.com/forums/s...d.php?t=275353

I've checked the ETM and not many wires are involved. Like i've said before, all you have is a yellow wire and a Green/Black wire. When you put the transmission in reverse, it signals the switch to close and the circuit is complete, which you get power from the No 13 fuse in the dash fuse box. So you lights should come on. It sounds like the wires are wired together under the hood at the transmission.
