Won't start, very low energy.

Once in a while when I try to start my car, it won't start, I hear the ignition trying to be of use.

I think it may be the battery or hopefully Alternator because there is some electrical components that will come on, with low energy.

For instance the radio will come on but be very very quiet, or it won't let me eject the Cassette the head phone jack cassette, and all the dash lights will be dim. If I jump it or just connect it to a battery that has power (other car doesn't even have to be running) it will start.

Anyone know how I can check if it is either battery or Alternator? Also, it doesn't die while driving at all, and only doesn't start every 2nd or 3rd time getting back into my car after not driving for a while.

But today I jumped it after school, drove my girlfriend home, and stupidly turned the engine off because I was going to go in and talk to her while she gets changed and the car wouldn't start almost right when i realized I turned it off.

So I am not sure, thanks alot. And I did try to search better this time but no luck. Sorry if the answer is somewhere else, or is too obvious.

Well, I've had a few of the same problems, my friend.

Try these, and hopefully they will help you

*Check your ignition coil for life, take it to a local auto parts store to get it tested.

* Charge your battery

* Check the alternator

* Check the plug wires, you might just need a new set...I did.

* Main relay? It was a problem for me.

Hopefully that helped, tell me what it was when you get it fixed

Thank you!

I don't have the tools necessary to check out 100% of my engine bay and I am pretty new to the prelude, so could anyone circle the points of interest on a picture of my engine if I upload it and just mark to each one the number of Crimson's Points of Interest?

Thank you so much.

Sorry if I seem like a troll. I wish I knew more but I have no one to teach me but all of you.

It's fine dude, everyone has to start somewhere, and this was a good place for me too.

Now upload those pictures and I'll point everything out.

Thank you, I will have to do it tomorrow because it is dark and raining, and my camera is at my friends house. I didn't expect to get a reply so quickly. I appreciate it. Hopefully I will be able to help out more eventually.

Finally got camera back and had time to upload.
My mother thinks it may be the humidity that is affecting the car, but I am leaning more towards the alternator because the final day I was able to drive it it would basically die whenever I had to stop and it wouldn't accelerate unless I tried flooring it.

Definently take the ignition coil to your local auto parts store, get it tested.
The alternator just keeps your battery charged.

Alright, thanks for such a speedy response.

Could the ignition coil also be the reason why it will have barely any electrical output/power?
