How reliable is 4ws on a 3rd gen?

As the title says...have you guys had problems with your 4ws? any issues at all?

my chassis is going on 225,000 miles.... i autocross the crap out of it, and its still holding up GREAT.... i just hope it holds up for another 225,000 miles on a fresh motor so i can beat the hell out of it some more

4ws is purely mechanical. Unless you drive over a curb and damage the steering racks, the system will last forever.

hey guys this is kinda off topic but..
when ever i make a relatively sharp turn even at low speeds, i can hear a *knockknock* from left side and it doesnt matter whether im turning right or left. any clues? thanks.

Dumb question but dont we have CV joints/boots there as well? Thats been the culprit on every frontwheel drive car Ive ever owned.

CV joints and boots are part of the axle. You replace the axle to get new ones.

Unless you need to put down more than 250HP, our stock axles are just fine...if you're going to build a beast, consider custom stage 1 axles $$.

vesh.. I dont think I will be getting more than 250hp N/A b20a.
Maybe if I decided to go turbo, but thats a whole nother story.
So then, where can i get some new replacement axles cheap?
