Re: new 90 lude si

Believe it or not, E-bay has plenty of mufflers from 35-40 dollars that are a split 3inch muffler that sound great. They sound very business like instead of the 1.5 honda civics which sound like a chainsaw.

Re: new 90 lude si

im making my own could air intake, costs about 50 bucks to make your own and you can route it however you want, use 2.5 inch exhaust tubing with a 180 degree bend in it, and a few rubber pvc conectors from homedepot and paint the inside of the pipe and the outside with a few thick layers of ceramic paint. should work just as good as AEM cold airs, for 1/4 of the cost

Be sure to post up some pics of this. I like to see what kinds of ideas people come up with.

2.5 is kind of small for an intake. Most intakes use 2.75 or 3 inch tubing. Also, I'm not sure how much good a 180 degree bend will be since that would route it straight back to the intake manifold (think of a U shape). There is really only one place you can locate the filter and have it considered a true cold air intake, and that requires moving the battery. There is one exception to this but it doesn't sound like that's what you're doing.

Re: new 90 lude si

Remember that there isn't much cold air under the hood once the engine is warmed up.Either close to the front grill or behind the intake would be a cooler place.

Re: new 90 lude si

If you are looking for a new exhaust/ headers with out having one built, Pacesetter is one of the only companies that still make them for this car 88-91. This is the cheapest I have found them so far:

Forged pistons are available for the b20a5. I haven't seen any for the b21a1 though. That doesn't mean they aren't available, just that I don't know of any, lol.

From everything I've read, the b21 isn't a good engine for boost.

No you do not have to go H22 to do forged internals.

Here are the basics:

OBD1 Conversion for Tuning and Fuel Management - Honda Prelude Forum : Honda Prelude Forums

Read through that whole thread to understand how to boost a 3rd gen.

Update to that thread would be, LSDMotorsports.com no longer makes a turbo manifold for us.

Weirtech.com or this member can make you a custom manifold - Feeler Turbo Manifold - Honda Prelude Forum : Honda Prelude Forums - his name is Chris, contact him to make a manifold.

the 2.5 inch promotes a higher velocity in the air. as for heat the tube gets ceramoc coating inside and out plus exhaust wrap, the 180 degree bend does not stay, you just use that piece of exhaust it gets cut up to form the curs that relocate it to the front bumper, held together with ruber pvc clamps from homedepot
